I am a 24 year old Photo Enthusiast.
I grew up in Sydney and continue to reside here to this day. I have always been interested in photography from a young age. I would always take photos of nature, animals and my friends and family growing up.
In highschool I chose digital media as an elective and learnt the fundamental knowledge of composition, camera angles, editing and focal points and lengths.
I then went to the University of Sydney and completed my first degree, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Film Studies and Art History. As much as I can't contribute this degree to photography directly, film studies did allow me to open up my mind about what a camera is, its evolution and its purpose. Much like a film, photography captures a moment in reality, or a form of reality, an imagined reality, a created reality through imagination, or simply just capturing a natural moment. All by different methods and different ideas, capture life and people. Capture a story.
The degree made me learn that capturing a story is a beautiful thing, and that not only occurs in film, but in photography. A story can be found in many scenes, emotions in someones face, a landscape or a macro shot of a flower. Now in my photography, often I will try and tell a story, especially with photoshoots. I have found, to have a story, is to have an added interest, and stories can lead to drama, and the heightening of emotions, poses, and the overall effect of the photos.
I am now at the end of completing my second degree, this time a Bachelor of Media and Comunications in Production. I am majoring in film production and screenwrirting. In this degree I have studied documentary film, aesthetics in production- including film and music, directing actors, cinematography, sound design, recording, mixing & editing, directing television and directing for cinema. Each subject have explored elements of capturing the real and using an SLR camerra, industry level video cameras, sound recording and editing technology and equipment.
Through these subjects and university projects, I have learnt how to use photshop at a higher level, by doing various workshops on photoshop. Also by using SLR cameras for projects, creative lessons and workshops. My father, a photography enthusist also, has his own collection of photographic equipment and has influenced and inspired my love, passion and skill of photography.

"Time is priceless, just like the photos that make it stand still."
Early in 2016 I completed a 6 week online Photography Course at SHAW Academy, and recieved a 99% score on the final exam.
I believe photography is something that can be self taught. Through endless hours of fiddling with the camera, lens, aperture. tripod, angles, editing techniques, I have grown as a photographer and have devloped many skills not taught in a classroom. Through each collaboration, I have learnt something new, wheteher it be about a pose, a problem or solution with lighting, I have learnt something valuable that adds to my skill.
They say practice makes perefect, and if that's the case I am well on my road to perfection. For I take more photos than anyone could believe...
Time is priceless, just like the photos that make it stand still.
